Journal Entry
I
woke up in cozy bed to a loud racket outside. I looked out and there were two
older men fighting. My mom came into my room and told me that is was just my
father and our old neighbor. I got dressed and went outside and down the street
to where my aunt was working at a silk farm. I never got to see my family that
often because they were always busy working. So it was nice that my mother let
me go and see my aunt.
Later that evening, I sat down with my mother, father
and little brother for dinner. All of my family believed in Daosim. For dinner
we had chicken and white rice. It was really good. My favorite part of the meal
was the white rice. What I loved most was being able to sit with my father,
wrapped in a warp blanket that my Nana had made for us.
In
the morning I got up and changed into clothes that my mom had given me. They
were a pair of black pants with a nice top. After I was done, I went into my
little brother’s room and helped him get dressed so that we could go enjoy the
warm summer breeze while it was still happening. I loved being able to roam
free and not having to worry about anyone but myself.
The
governments rules weren’t that different from the different parts of China. If
we were to disobey the government there would be charges against us. What I
hate most is not being able to be my own person. What I mean is I feel like
since we have rulers, we can’t do anything that we want to do.
Everyday
seems like nothing ever changes. The only thing that changes is that I notice
that I love my family even more then I ever did before.
